BioAlliance Pharma reinforces management team
Paris, France, 10 March 2004. BioAlliance Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company developing novel approaches for treating HIV and cancer based on its expertise in drug resistance, reinforces its management team with several new appointments:
Dr. Alain Maquin was appointed Director of Regulatory and Pharmaceutical Affairs and Head of the Nanotechnology business unit. A doctor in pharmacy, with degrees in galenic optimisation and health economics, Dr. Maquin has great regulatory expertise and extensive industry experience, including as Managing Director and Plant Director at pharmaceutical companies Médiolanum and Sanofi. He joins BioAlliance to apply his know-how to the advanced clinical development projects in phase III (Miconazole-Lauriad™ - a once-a-day bucco-adhesive tablet for the treatment of candidiasis in cancer and HIV patients) and phase II (nanoparticle anti-cancer formulation targeting hepatocarcinoma).
Jean-François Dufour-Lamartinie, M.D, was appointed Director of Clinical Research. An oncologist and pharmacologist by training he has acquired broad clinical development experience in his prior positions as medical director with pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organisations and as clinician at the cancer research institutes such as the Institut Gustave Roussy.
Thérèse Croughs, M.D. joined BioAlliance Pharma to head the business units Adhesive Technology and New Projects (HIV and Cancer). Dr. Croughs is a doctor in internal medicine by training. She has over 10 years experience in international clinical development (EU, USA), particularly in the field of biotechnology proteins with Bayer and Novo Nordisk.
Dr. Arnaud Chéret was appointed Scientific Director for HIV. A virologist and immunologist with a thesis in virology (Dr. D Dormont – CEA) Dr. Chéret was previously responsible for clinical safety for the anti-retroviral portfolio at GSK. At BioAlliance and the subsidiary VIRalliance he is responsible for the scientific aspects of the anti-integrase programme and the drug resistance tests (Phenoscript™).
Matthias Schneider was appointed Strategy and Marketing Director. His background is in European marketing of oncology products at Amgen and strategy consulting with Monitor Group. He has broad international experience and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
