BioAlliance Pharma has specific skills in Research & Development and notably in the areas of Pharmaceutical and Clinical development, as well as Registration. This has enabled our company to develop a first product, Loramyc®, now registered in 26 European countries, in the United States and in South Korea, and to have a second product registered, Setofilm®, for which BioAlliance Pharma has acquired commercialization rights for Europe.
These achievements have proven our ability to successfully complete the development of innovative products and to sign commercial partnerships:
· In Europe: with Therabel (for Loramyc® and Setofilm®)
· In the USA: with Par/Strativa Pharmaceuticals (for Oravig®, brand name of Loramyc® in the USA)
· And in Asia: with Handok and NovaMed (for Loramyc®)
Based on this model, we are actively looking for strategic partnerships enabling a long-term growth based on our product franchises that address strong growing markets:
· Acyclovir Lauriad®, a product for the treatment of herpes labialis for retail markets or OTC. The pivotal Phase III positive final results obtained end of 2009 showed marked efficacy and good tolerance. These results provide a good basis for discussions with regulatory authorities in the course of 2010 in order to define the registration strategy.
· A supportive care franchise for immunocompromised patients in the hospital setting consisting today of Loramyc® and Setofilm®, as well as two other products using the proprietary adhesive Lauriad® technology:
- Fentanyl Lauriad® in chronic cancer pain: positive preliminary results in the first Phase I clinical trial obtained in March 2010 showed the sustained systemic absorption of the product, meaning that administration for severe chronic cancer pain can be envisaged;
- Clonidine Lauriad® in prevention and treatment of radiotherapy and chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis: ongoing Phase II clinical trial will evaluate efficacy and safety of clonidine Lauriad® in patients with head and neck cancer.
· Innovative treatments for severe and invasive cancers and/or orphan drugs, including the biotherapy AMEP® for the treatment of metastatic melanoma, currently in a phase I clinical trial.
